The nursing staff is a vital part of the Desert Springs Hospital team. Clinical areas are organized into a decentralized model. Each area is under the leadership of a manager who, with the clinical staff in the area, has the autonomy and authority to define and develop unit-based programs to meet clinical needs and assure high quality care. Patient care has been advanced by providing a structural environment that fosters collegial interaction and promotes a professional dialog that focuses on the whole patient. In addition to a comprehensive orientation program, which includes Service Excellence customer service training, continuing education is encouraged.
