Hospital Earns Chest Pain Accreditation

1245950938AccredCPCpci for web2June 24, 2009—Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center received full Cycle II accreditation with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) from the Society of Chest Pain Centers, demonstrating the hospital's commitment to high-quality cardiac care.

The hospital was the first in Nevada to receive accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers in 2006 and this new accreditation includes meeting additional standards related to providing cardiac patients with a balloon or stent to open blocked coronary arteries.

"Desert Springs Hospital is pleased to receive this recognition that confirms our commitment to meeting high cardiac care standards for our patients," Hospital CEO Sam Kaufman said. "For years Desert Springs has been known as 'The Heart Hospital' by Southern Nevadans and we view this accreditation as another step toward achieving excellence."  Read more...

Wound Care Center Now Open

Hyperbaric MedicineThe outpatient Wound Care Center at Desert Springs Hospital is now open and accepting patients. The Center features five exam rooms and two hyperbaric oxygen chambers.
