Sam Kaufman, CEO/Managing Director

Sam Kaufman was appointed as the CEO/Managing Director at Desert Springs Hospital in July 2005. His key areas of responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, coordination of all department activities, the hospital’s strategic plan and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hospital.

Mr. Kaufman started his career in the medical field at the National Institute of Health, as the Assistant Head of Record Processing. In 1991 he moved to Nevada and began working at Desert Springs Hospital as the Assistant Director of Medical Records. Later, he moved to Valley Hospital Medical Center as the Director of Records and Medical Staff Services, and was promoted to Assistant Administrator. He then moved back to Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center where he has spent five years as the Chief Operating Officer of the hospital.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters in Health Services Administration from the College of Saint Francis.

Mr. Kaufman and his wife Andrea have four children and have been members of the Las Vegas community for 19 years.
