Security Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center has security officers on duty 24 hours a day for your protection. In the event you need the assistance of security, dial "0" and the operator will contact an officer.
Fire Drills For your protection, the hospital regularly conducts fire and disaster drills. If a drill occurs during your hospital stay, please remain in your room and do not become alarmed. Our staff is trained in fire safety and emergency management.
Medications All medications you take while a patient at Desert Springs Hospital have been prescribed by your physician, are dispensed by the hospital pharmacy and administered by a trained professional. Patients are not permitted to administer their own medications or to keep personal medications, unless specifically documented by their physician.
Personal Belongings All valuables, including personal items, are to be returned home with a family member. Desert Springs Hospital is not responsible for lost medications, personal items or valuables (including glasses, dentures and hearing aides). If you choose to keep your valuables here, an inventory will be taken and your items will be kept in a safe with the Security Department. Patients are asked not to bring personal electrical appliances into the hospital because, although most are safe for home use, they may not be compatible with the hospital environment. Before leaving, please collect all of your personal belongings, double-checking drawers and closets. If any of your belongings are missing, please notify your nurse, who will contact Security.
