Our Innovative Programs and Services

Diabetes Self Management Education
The center offers educational classes or individualized appointments. Participants in these programs learn to manage their diabetes successfully. Topics include: behavior change, goal setting, healthy eating concepts, carbohydrate counting, dining out, label reading, lipid, medication, stress and sick day management, benefits of exercise, prevention of complications, foot care and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People with Diabetes.

Gestational Diabetes Education
These classes are for those who are diagnosed with diabetes during pregnancy.

Topics include: meal management, blood glucose management, ketone testing, and pre/post-pregnancy counseling

Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)
These devices are prescribed by the patient’s physician and provide insights to help your healthcare provider fine tune your diabetes treatment. A tiny glucose sensor is inserted under the skin in a painless process. Glucose measurements are automatically sampled and recorded. Once your testing is complete, your healthcare provider will receive a customized report that will help both of you work together to fine-tune your diabetes management plan. This requires two visits to the center and most insurance companies cover the service.
