The annual “Best of Las Vegas” program sponsored by the Las Vegas Review-Journal yielded top awards for Desert Springs Hospital and Surgical Weight Control Center.
Desert Springs Hospital was honored as the Gold winner in the Best Hospital category for the second consecutive year. Additionally, the Surgical Weight Control Center (SWCC), which is part of the Valley Health Physician Alliance, was honored in the Weight Loss Center category with a 2021 Gold award. All weight loss surgeries with SWCC are performed at Desert Springs Hospital.
“Receiving the Gold designation for two years in a row is an incredible honor and a true testament to the outstanding healthcare our team works hard to provide every shift, every day,” said Chris Loftus, CEO of Desert Springs Hospital. “Our goal is to always provide high-quality care, but the ongoing pandemic added layers of intensity and complexity. I’m beyond proud of the dedication, compassion and commitment to excellence demonstrated by our team every day.”
Other Valley Health System hospitals were also honored, including Summerlin Hospital as a best place to have a baby and for cancer treatment.
The 2021 Best of Las Vegas program featured over 400 categories as part of its 40-year anniversary. Voting took place between August 30 and September 23, 2021, with over 5.7 million votes cast. Results were tabulated by NERUS Strategies and announced in a special magazine on December 12, 2021.
