Basics of Diabetes Care
If you have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, or have been told you have pre-diabetes, this three-part interactive educational session on diabetes from Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center's Diabetes Treatment Center is for you. In these sessions, you'll get the knowledge you need and learn about tools that can help you manage diabetes and achieve success in self-management.

- Basics of self-care of diabetes
- Physical activity and exercise
- Acute and chronic complication management
- Role of oral medications and insulin in diabetes management
- Basics of nutrition
- Changing behavior and setting goals
The program is 10 hours divided among three classes. PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING FORMS WITH YOU TO THE FIRST CLASS:
Diabetes education may not be a covered benefit through your insurance. Please verify your benefits with your insurance company before attending. A physician referral is needed to attend. If you need help acquiring a referral, please contact us.
