Important Coronavirus Update
Coronavirus Disease 2019, or COVID-19, is a new respiratory virus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The World Health Organization (WHO) recently declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. If you develop a fever or cough or have difficulty breathing, or have had close contact with someone who has had a confirmed positive COVID-19 test result, please seek medical attention by calling your provider’s office. Hospital Services and Programs
The hospital is fully operational. We are monitoring for symptoms in patients and implementing isolation protocols, if needed. We are taking proactive steps to keep our patients and team members safe while serving the needs of our community. We are actively monitoring and responding to all recommendations made by the CDC and our local Health Authority.
- Our Emergency Department treats individuals for emergency medical conditions. If you have fever and/or cough symptoms consistent with the virus and desire to seek medical attention, call your primary care provider or visit an Urgent Care Center.
- For Test Results: If you were tested for COVID-19 and discharged from the Emergency Department, please follow-up directly with LabCorp for your results.
- Routine appointments or testing at the hospital will be rescheduled.
- Most community health education programs offered by the hospital in the near term have been canceled/postponed; please follow the hospital on Facebook for updates.
Consistent with community efforts around social distancing to limit the exposure to individuals who may have contracted COVID-19 but are at that time asymptomatic, we have revised our Visitation Policies to help protect our patients and their loved ones. The following is in effect until further notice.
All visitors must undergo a health and travel screening and screen negative before entering the hospital; bring and wear a mask during their visit; wash and sanitize their hands; and maintain social distancing guidelines.
Visitors are not permitted on the inpatient floors of the main hospital. Limited visitation is permitted in the ER, for outpatient surgery, in compassionate care/end-of-life situations and for maternity/neonatal/pediatric patients. In these cases, visitors will be limited to a specific room and must wear a mask.
ER – One visitor may accompany a patient in the ER. The visitor must come in with the patient at the time of arrival and wear a mask. The visitor must stay in the specific room/bay assigned to the patient until discharge. If the patient is admitted to the hospital, the visitor must depart as no visitation is permitted on the inpatient units.
Outpatient Surgery – One visitor may accompany the patient during Outpatient Surgery. Both patient and visitor are required to wear a mask upon arrival. If the patient is admitted to the hospital, the visitor must depart as no visitation is allowed on the inpatient units.
Health Screening – Visitors are subject to a temperature check and screening upon arrival at the hospital. Any individual who has been in contact with a person suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 within last 14 days; or has had a cough or flu-like symptoms, including sore throat, headache, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or loss of taste or smell in the last 24 hours, felt feverish or experiencing chills in the last 48 hours or had a fever of 100F or greater in the last 48 hours, will be prohibited from entering the hospital.
Travel History – Travel history will be queried; those who have traveled outside the country or domestically within the last 14 days will not be permitted to proceed within the hospital.

The CDC recommends individuals and families follow everyday preventive measures.
- Social distancing – avoiding crowds and crowded spaces, avoiding handshaking and hugging, deliberately staying at least six feet away from other people, and replacing in-person visits with remote check-ins using technology.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then dispose of the tissue.
- Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60–95% alcohol.
- Routinely clean frequently touched surfaces and objects.
- Stay home when you are sick with respiratory disease symptoms.
