Christopher Loftus Named CEO of Desert Springs Hospital
Christopher (Chris) Loftus has been appointed Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, effective today.
In this role, he is responsible for leading the overall strategic plan for the 293-bed hospital and working with the senior team and medical staff regarding quality initiatives, patient satisfaction, service excellence, business development and financial performance.
Loftus previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at Summerlin and Henderson hospitals in southern Nevada and at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. In this capacity, he was responsible for day-to-day hospital operations and strategy implementation.

Before focusing on healthcare administration as a career, Loftus was a professional soccer player with IF Limhamn Bunkeflo in Sweden and the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer.
He earned his master’s degree in health service administration from the University of Evansville in Indiana while serving as assistant men’s soccer coach for the university, and earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and pre-med from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, while serving as the captain of the men’s soccer team in his Junior and Senior seasons.
Desert Springs Hospital is located in the heart of south-central Las Vegas, near the famous Las Vegas Strip, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and McCarran International Airport. The hospital specializes in advanced cardiovascular services, weight-loss surgery, orthopedic and general surgery, geriatric psychiatric inpatient care and acute rehabilitation. Outpatient services include cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, diabetes, and advanced wound care.
The hospital maintains specialty accreditations in chest pain, stroke, heart failure, bariatric surgery, and diabetes.
